Nepal Homestay Tour Review

Rabi, Kopila, and Anna were my wonderful hosts for my vacation in Nepal. I am a 59 year old female English teacher who traveled to Nepal alone. Due to my schedule, I stayed with the family off and on over 3 weeks. It is a 15 minute walk to Thamel from their home in Nara Bazaar. I never felt afraid or threatened. (traffic all over Nepal is very interesting) Rabi is a very experienced tour guide who has knowledge of many aspects of Nepalese life---cities, culture, wildlife, terrain, relegions, food, and festivals. He did not pressure me in any way to hire his services. But if you want to do something he is VERY helpful. I trusted him completely and his English is superb! Kopila is Rabi's wife who is a teacher at a local Montessori School. She is very sweet and is a wonderful cook! If you want clothes made she is very helpful to find good prices for material and very inexpensive places to have clothes made. Anna is there 4 year old daughter who is ALWAYS smiling and loves to play Crazy Eights. I recommend staying here for anyone who wants to stay in a real Nepalese family setting. My experience with the family was 5-stars. There are a definite 5-star family!

We are pleased to recommend Kopila's Homestay and iTourNepal.com P ltd. for all Nepal travel needs."Rabi" responded promptly to our questions so planning a 21-day tour was easy. His home stay offered a private one-bedroom one-bath floor. He does only one home stay at once unlike many others who have many people at once. Breakfast and dinner were included where you ate with him, his wife and daughter. Pickup, transportation to other cities, meals there, tours and any other needs were taken care of promptly. Costs were spelled out in advance. At other cities as Pokhara and the Citwan National Forrest he was well known and extra attention was given to us. Travels can include tours of Tibet, Bhutan and even a private driving craft tour of various remote cities in Nepal. Treks can be arranged. In short, every need you could ever have will be handled by Rabi.

I was a lone female traveller visiting Nepal in August. Having looked at a variety of different tour companies, I was very impressed by the tour company, as well as their promotion of sustainable tourism through agricultural projects and homestays.
I decided to book a week’s stay in the Kathmandu homestay offered by the company, from which I would base myself for the beginning of my trip. I also booked a 10 day trek to Annapurna Base Camp via Poon Hill. The homestay was a truly fantastic experience. Rabi, Kopila, Karuna and family were incredibly welcoming, my room was beautiful, and the local bustle of Nayabazar provided a wonderful alternative to touristy Thamel. I would recommend staying here 100%.
They made my trip to Nepal a truly unforgettable experience, for which I will always be
grateful. - Alice Burks London 12 May 2012
